I purchased the air conditioner to keep a room at the end of the garage heated and cooled. It has worked great. I need to remember to go out and clean the filter and reset. The filter has never been dirty but I clean it and reset and it cools or heats depending on the season.

These units are used on a coastal home where the salty air creates brutal conditions. I have purchased 7 units and only 1 unit failed sooner than expected after 2-3 years. Overall performance such as heating and cooling efficiency and energy consumption is solid. Keeping the filter clean is only necessary maintenance. The remote controls work well and are interoperable on multiple units. Overall would rate these as above average at a reasonable price.

I bought this 3 years ago it worked great Air was good and heat seemed adequate too. It ran quietly and did just as I expected. Till yesterday. Now it sounds like the compressor is running but the air is not cold. Cant find my receipt and Home Depot doesnt remember me. So Im stuck with a worthless 500 air and heat window unit. AND now I have to buy another one. Extremely unhappy with this purchase.

I have had this unit placed in my bedroom for about two weeks. It does a great job of keeping this 12x14 room comfortable. There is central heat/air in the home but has a hard time cooling one bedroom at the end of the house. That is where this little unit comes in handy. I would not recommend it for a much larger space but works great for its intended purpose. It is a little noisy and sometimes has a little vibration sound and a little loud when the compressor kicks in. If you are a light sleeper this might not work for you. All in all it seems to be a good little unit and fits my needs. We will see how the heat works later.

The ac needs an awning according to the instuctions and their customer service. What I have to put an awning over a window ac. STUPID engenering. They have vents on the top of the case to let rain and snow in. How big of an awning? Do they know that there is wind to blow rain and snow under the awning? It is also not supose to be in direct sun. Where in the world does the sun come up at high noon. That is a big awning to protect this. from sun rain and snow. Find a better ac with better engenering. I am returning it.

I bought this unit for the heating coil in January. We only used it briefly in February and it was okay. We turned it on in May and it would only hum. The compressor worked but the fan would not turn on. After numerous calls to customer service I received a letter that the warranty available to me was not going to be honored. I would have to buy another LG product to be reimbursed for the original unit. I will not be bribed to help them.

My Second unit replacing one that lasted 3 years

This unit is dimensionally the same as my first unit a 10000 BTU/hr Friedrich which I think was an LG with a different badge. The Friedrich lasted 14 years. No rust but finally got a leak in 2018. Replaced with this LG. I needed a sleeved unit with the exact dimensions this LG was it but only 7500 BTU/hr with heating. It lasted 3 years exactly. Evaporator lower half freezing up - suggesting low refrigerant. Could not find the leak. This unit had rust around the condenser and evaporator did not happen on the original Friedrich. I purchased this current unit because of dimensions and sleeve this is mounted through the wall not in a window I painted under coating where the last one rusted. If this one doesnt last I will not buy another. The unit is in my shop and runs on a timer about 3 hrs a day unless I am working there. The unit performs well but I think it should have not rusted and definitely lasted longer. A few stainless steel parts would be worth the small added cost.

I bought this unit back in oct of 2019 at Home Depot it is quieter than specified and flawlessly keeps my bedroom comfortable year round the compressor is quiet the fan is not intrusive like others brands Ive had the control board doesnt click really loud like other brands as well which is helpful while trying to sleep I love the slide out chassis because you can secure the unit into the window frame and my yearly cleaning and inspection is a breeze with that feature the LW8016HR is an ultimate reliable unit and doesnt show its age and still runs smooth with no issue like the day I bought it and it doesnt interfere with watching tv I never have to turn the volume up.

My husband and I purchased 2 of these units for the Man Cave and She Shed. My husbands unit works great for heating and cooling. My unit works fine for cooling. Heating ... not so much. The heated air is barely luke warm and my shed never heats up enough to be considered warm or even comfortable.

I purchased SIX for my rental units. Up until this purchase I have had good results with this brand but buying this model has not been as nice. The AC feature was fine but NONE put out enough heat to keep the rooms above 65 degrees. Ive had to purchase supplemental space heaters to keep everyone warm. LG quality decent cooling heating not so much

Got this window a/c-heater for my moms Los Angeles 1920s built house as it was the only name brand unit compact enough to fit in her small kitchen window that offered both cooling and heating. Installation instructions were easy to follow and fairly intuitive from start to finish. Build quality is a bit flimsy with weak plastic at the fan outlet manual controls but cooling power is on point for a small room. Once temps dropped in the winter though the heating technology on this unit is just not strong enough to stand on its own as a primary heating source for on demand type heating. It eventually warmed up her kitchen to a comfortable level it just took much much longer. I would give it a solid 5 star rating if heating output was better. Another minor quip is the LG TV in her kitchen powers on whenever this units remote is aimed at the LW8016HR so she has to be careful not to oversrpay the IR signal. LG could have prevented this by implementing its own IR frequency on this device unique from its TVs I suppose? Bottom line I think its a great A/C unit for small windows just dont count on it to warm you up right away in the winter.

Im still very glad I bought it as it is great at cooling and I love the energy saving mode. Unfortunately during the winter time here it still heats my house but you have to keep it on heat as the heat will never turn on when it is on energy saving mode. This has cost my electric bill to shoot out of the roof.

I purchased this for a 240 sf craft shed. The AC cools really well but the heat really doesnt do anything. I have to use an oil radiator to even move the temperature 5 degrees. Only gave it a fair because it does cool well
