Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy, and expensive and you probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. We purchased a similar model EW30IF60ISA May 2011

Submitted by Cardiolou - 10/25/2018

We absolutely love how the induction range cooks.....until it didnt We purchased this range because of the wonderful features and how it cooked like a gas range. We only had an electric option and really wanted the option of a gas like range so after some research and talking to some friends who have an induction cook top we made the purchase for our seasonal home in Maine. Well after only 7 years and infrequent use with maybe 100 hours of actual cook time on the range we now have error codes E 14 and the entire range no longer works. After a call to our local Appliance store where we purchased the range they called for the part which was $1500 not including the labor and time to fix the problem. So I called Electrolux directly to see if I could plead my case. I must say the Electrolux customer service person LaTisha was very helpful and asked me to find the part number that was to be ordered to see if Electrolux price of the parts might be less through them. After reading and reviewing the reviews and seeing many others have had similar issues we are aborting our plans to fix this range and will go to alternative choices for a range. I am very disappointed in this decision. The customer service person did tell me that this issue was likely due to power surges due to power outages that unfortunately are not infrequent on the coast of Maine. I only wish I would have known that prior to purchase or would have been warned to put a power surge protector on my electrical panel to protect my very expensive range. Buyer beware and make sure your do your homework prior to purchase. Ask about the effects of power surges and how to best protect your investment.

Poor fit and finish - love the induction -

Submitted by disappointedxxx - 9/7/2018

purchase about 4 weeks ago -- right after the delivery - less than 1 hour old - bottom drawer doesnt shut without lifting up on one side. Oven door and bottom door scrape on each other. Oven door scrapes against side curtainsslide in type range - counter top damaged on delivery - transition from the range top to the top of the oven does not fit correctly - leaving a sharp edge on the front of the stove where you stand while cooking -- retailers comment Well what do you want me to do about it? -- and proceeded to set up appointment for technician to look at it. that looks like it might happen next week. Had purchased Electrolux range and fridge in the past - very pleased so when another range was needed came back. I think might have been a mistake.

Great While Under Warranty

Submitted by RaptorScrew - 8/5/2018

I wanted to spare no expense when we purchased this unit Love it - However now that its out of warranty the stovetop keeps beeping E 15 at us and we are unable to use the cooktop. We must go to the utility room and trip the circuit off to turn off the stove or it will keep beeping at us. When we want to use the stove / oven we have to turn the circuit back on and HOPE that the cooktop has reset itself. Ive been told there is a POSSIBLE fix but it only works part of the time. Ive been told that it is about a $950 repair and we HOPE it fixes the issue otherwise we have to try something else. No what I was expecting by spending over $3500... When it worked right it was the BEST EVER

Happy and sad

Submitted by Loved and lost - 2/20/2018

Bought the slide in range w/two ovens a little over 4 years ago. I have LOVED both the cooktop and ovens. Sleek design is easily cleaned. Features are wonderful: two timers many presets Power Boil. But Im so sad to say that a recent needed repair priced us out of making that repair and of course we are not in warranty. I realize that the life expectancy of any large appliance is only 5-8 years but I would have liked it to have lasted closer to that 5-yr mark for such an expensive range. Unsure if I can recommend it. 5 stars for the range 3 for the life expectancy. Just a note to others some magnetic cookware is better/faster than others on induction. My advice is to try a small fry or sauce pan first before investing in a whole set. Some just work faster than others. Dont cheap out on your cookware.

Submitted by kennel21 - 11/16/2017

We purchased our first Electrolux range 3 years ago. One burner did not work. Come to find out it wasnt plugged into the main board. Two years later it blew the circuit board and we lost use of the range top. Oven still worked. After three trips by repairmen the store decided to replace it with a new range. I love the induction stove top and the convection oven. This models oven looks to be easier to clean. Now to improve the control panel for easier cleaning.

Faulty design

Submitted by Johnsapo - 11/13/2017

I have bought 4 induction stove from Sears Keep having problem with the control board with three or more cooking element cooking at the second time. The generator and filter board can not handle the cooking voltage and the breaker will trip and fry the control board. The first time with in factory warrantee. But now it happened again today due to cooking all three elements at the same time and rest assure the breaker was tripped. Error code 35 and 75 was codes. Same as last repair. Researched online This is a very common problem due to the design and internal component design. I love the design but its not for regular cooks or large families. I bought 5 year extended warrantee from Sears. But now they are gone. I wishes electrolux could do some thing for me.

Induction failed after many temporary fails

Submitted by unhappy in Long Island - 10/12/2017

Nice looking stove - but failure rate of my induction cooktop mirrors they many other owners who posted negative reviews online. We all seem to share very similar experiences of the induction cooktop beginning to get the F## Error codes. This results in everything from 1hr to several weeks of downtime of the cooktop being out of service. This all happens during the first 3 years of ownership. This behavior finally results in the permanent failure and the dreaded E31 error code which is the final nail in the coffin - and a $1500 repair. I bought 3 appliances and all 3 need replacing within a few years. Zero customer service your just directed to 3rd party repair companies who show up and have absolutely have sheer contempt for the Brand and the induction stove. They have nothing good to say about Electrolux. I wish i spoke to them before I bought my appliance.

Highly unreliable to say the least

Submitted by frustrated_customer - 9/12/2017

I bought a previous model in the slide-in induction series and have nightmares. The electronics of these units is poorly designed and can give you a random error code that is extremely hard and expensive to fix. Out of our 4 years of ownership we have spent 8 + months in down time where it could not be used in addition endless hours of frustration with service technicians and our extended warranty customer care. Our extended warranty has now maxed out its liability and we we are left stranded after buying such an expensive product. An attempt to seek a minor compensation from Electrolux falls into deaf ears. Quite simple they do not care about their customers. Buyer beware. The electronics of electrolux induction ranges is sub par and highly fickle.

Submitted by Not A Happy Camper2 - 8/9/2017

My first EW301S80RS was delivered May 28 2017. The wave touch panel on front of stove did not meet and there were sharp edges. Electrolux said could not be repaired had to be replaced. I was able to use it and I loved it but I did not pay that much money for a defective stove. The second EW301S80RS was delivered on July 10 2017. It had an F15 error code. I could use the stove top of the range I could not use either oven. I am now waiting for the third EW301S8ORS to be delivered on August 17 2017. I am not a happy camper.

I bought this oven several months ago. I wanted time to use before I review the products. I LOVE IT It is so easy to use and cooks everything perfectly. I love the fast reaction time on the stove top going from high to low. My only complaint would be the glass top in that it doesnt go completely under the stainless steel trim and food and dirt get caught and it makes it a little more of an issue to clean. I dont understand why this is. I thought it would be a completely smooth cooktop to the edges.

So absolutely disappointed

Submitted by onemiep - 4/26/2017

My induction slide in was the pride of my kitchen I loved it so much and the sales people convinced me it was the best one and worth the additional $ over other brands. I loved the look of it and even cut the corners on my kitchen drawers to make it work and fit properly in my kitchen. In October exactly 3 years after installing it I started getting error codes e15 then e7. I called the store where I bought it and they recommended resetting the breaker. It worked. I was elated. Then a month later the error codes started up again locking me out of the burner controls. Sometimes I would reset the breaker and things would be ok sometimes the range itself seemed to reset or time out and work again until last Saturday when I got an e21 code that would not reset at the breaker or on its own. I called Aptco for a repair estimate and they said the part alone would come to more than $1100 Add labour to the top of that and I am halfway to a whole new range I have only had the range for 3 years am not an avid cook so it has likely seen less than 1 year of average use in total and I am looking at a total bill of over $1500 When I searched on google the number of people experiencing the same issue was mind boggling. How can a company not stand behind their product like this. I have so little confidence in this not happening again that I am thinking I might just throw in the towel and go with a different brand altogether. I would do the repair if I had any confidence at all that the fix would hold but the repair guy said that if the issue is the engineering of the appliance then yes the same thing could happen again. SO DISAPPOINTED. It is a beautiful box with a huge carbon footprint and has seriously soured my expectations of the brand.

Bought a house that had 4 Electrolux appliances in the kitchen only 4 years old. Everything worked great for the first few weeks. Then the dreaded E 15 on the range Which after reading other reviews seems very common. Very frustrating that the whole thing shuts down. The light on the microwave clock and cooking instructions is so dim its unreadable. now looking at very expensive repairs. Very disappointed with Electrolux- would not purchase or recommend.

E 15 Round two Second stove and NOT happy

Submitted by JennyinBoro - 1/30/2017

We bought the non-induction model prior to this one and got the E-15 error after not quite two years in. Thankfully we had also bought the extended warrenty with BestBuy. The repair was going to be so costly they deemed it necessary to replace but the model we had they no longer carried so we bought the upgrade to this model. The features when working are incredible. However we started getting an E 15 error again at least a year ago. We read online that if you lock the door for a period of time it would reset and could buy you some time. It did for about a year until now. Im quite disgusted that Ive spent around $6000 on stoves over the past 5-6 years and am now having to replace this one yet again. This was for my dream kitchen and has become a nightmare. I was brand loyal-until now.

Induction stove

Submitted by horse person - 12/21/2016

Moved a few months ago and chose an induction stove and this is what turned up. Maybe should have looked around more before taking my chances. The controls are designed by engineers not cooks and they are not logical. No knobs just buttons to push to determine which burner which level. You have to keep reading the manual to make sense of the instructions. At first I tried scrambling eggs on the back burner that was the same size as the pan as recommended. But it was such a reach with the guide panel sticking out in front that it was a problem because youre stirring all the time. So I took one of my kids advice and used the small frying pan on the large front burner. Sigh. Please consult cooks before designing such utensils Please

Cooks great and looks great

Submitted by Happy in Springfield - 12/18/2016

We bought this primarily because it was the only new range that fit into the existing cutout for our cabinets and countertop. It looks very stylish with no protruding knobs and a high-tech lighting scheme. Most importantly it cooks great. The perfect turkey feature lives up to its billing as our first Thanksgiving was a big success. The main convection oven cooks rapidly and evenly. The lower oven seems to run a bit hotter than advertised and we are still getting used to how long it takes to brown dinner rolls. The induction cooktop is extremely quick in heating up significantly faster than our previous electric cooktop.

Great when it worked...

Nice range in theory. In practice the induction electronics are unreliable ridiculously expensive and a nightmare for the service techs. You should withdraw this model from the market.

LOVE THIS RANGE

Submitted by Lawn2432 - 10/14/2016

WE bought this induction range over a month ago and it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. This induction range will boil water in 30 seconds as advertised. We had a gas range previously and this is even better. There are so many options for cooking and baking. We will never go back to gas or regular electric ranges. ELECTROLUX has the best ranges in the market place.

I am disappointed.

Submitted by Chantilly - 8/24/2016

My complaints are that the oven takes just as long to warm up as a regular oven and I am supposed to be able to boil water in 90 seconds and I havent been able too. I bought a new set of cookware to use with it but I guess they werent induction. At first the baking was excellent but here lately biscuits are burning on the bottoms. I dont know if its me or the oven. I have been busy with a massive kitchen remodel so I havent spent a lot of time figuring it out. It does looks nice but I clean it constantly and the stainless on top is getting minor scratches. It is sleek and doesnt have knobs and has luxury racks and lighting. There is no Elena on the bottom so it cleans easy. I bought it because I bought the stand alone freezer and refrigerator and received the Electrolux dishwasher for free. Those are great appliances Ive had it for 3 months.

Great features

Submitted by Vickie918 - 8/18/2016

We both love the induction cooktop We cook on paper towels to make cleanup easier. The cooktop is so easy to keep clean We also like the versatility of the oven. We can just bake or use convection bake. Weve also used the broiler which worked great. We also love the lights and smooth working slide out oven shelves.

INDUCTION WINS

Submitted by Linda1234 - 8/11/2016

We have had this range for 2 months and not a day goes by that I dont say I LOVE my new stove It is amazing how much faster dinner is ready....no waiting for the burners to warm or cool no extra heat in the kitchen and you really can put a paper towel under the pot/pan to save time on clean up. Having 2 ovens is one of the reasons I chose this model over the free standing range. Whether you are using the cooktop or the oven everything comes out perfect. Even scrambled eggs are better This range is worth every penny

My son has an Electrolux induction range that I had the opportunity. I purchased for me. It is even better than I thought it would be. It cooks faster and more evenly. The kitchen temperature remains lower a great advantage in southern Texas. The convection oven cooks more evenly than my previous one. I am a happy cooker.

Love all of the features and two ovens

Submitted by Barbara JB - 7/22/2016

I bought this to replace my first Electrolux stove. Love that the oven racks are no longer stainless steel that rusted. The induction gives you more control over the temperature. I use the two ovens and timers all of the time to keep track of things. I just hope this stove lasts longer than the only six years I got out of the first one. Bought the stove and microwave and got the dishwasher for free. Waiting for my two rebates

Love the induction cook top

Submitted by Robin B - 6/8/2016

I bought this for the induction cook top which I absolutely love. The controls heat up quickly and are very responsive when you turn the heat down. Convection oven works great. The lower oven is pretty good. I use it to roast vegetables and they must be flipped the bottom Browns but not the top - unless you flip them over. Overall I am very satisfied

I have had this stove for about 2 months now and am happy with my purchase. I love the bottom oven drawer. The upper oven is great with all the features. The oven heat comes out of the front not the back and I was concerned about that but so far it is not a problem for me. To me the oven does not seem to make the kitchen hot. Maybe that is because I dont open the door until things are done. With the meat probe convection conversion etc. maybe at the most I have to open the oven once to check on the progress but most things I dont have to open the door. The turbo boost burners work fast. I cant turn your back on the burner when using hi heat because it is so fast it could boil over. Over all I love the stove and it has all the features that I was looking for and then some.
